Mubarakiyah is the heart of old Kuwait city better known as the Old Souk. The Souk comprises of many small markets such as fish, meat, vegetables, sweet market and many others. The Old Souk was neglected for many years and buyers deserted it to more modern supermarkets and shopping malls. In recent years and after the souk has been renovated people seem to have rediscovered the beauty and the charm of the place and the old heart of the city started to pump again. Whenever I go there these painted murals and the way they visually interact with real life around draw my attention. All images shot using a Nikon Coolpix 8400 camera.
